How to import bank statement lines to Xero

1. Log in to your Online Banking, view your Bank Transactions and select the date range you need to import into Xero.

2. Export the Bank Transactions as an Excel “CSV” File.

3. Check that the CSV has a Date, Description column and that all the Credit & Debit Amounts are in one column.

4. Log in to Your Xero.

5. Click on the bank account that you need to import transaction lines into.

6. Click Manage Account then select “Import a Statement”.

7. Click Browse and add your CSV File. Now Click Import

8. Review and check that each column is assigned to the correct categories
ie. Date, Description, Amount.

9. Check the preview showing how the statement line will appear in Xero and insure that the amounts are shown on the correct sides. i.e Expenses are a debit and sales are a credit.
